Where It All Started..... SLVP
The date was November 26, 2005 in Garland, Texas, where I presided over a meeting of six descendants and former students of UMC Primary School Mamaka. The purpose of the meeting was to explore ways and means to help rebuild our village community after the war. Our first goal was to rebuild the structure of the elementary school we all attended, and render any further help to rehabilitate the Mamaka village community. To this effect I encouraged all of us to come together in a concerted effort with the Mamaka community to rebuild our old school. This was not going to be an easy task, I realized, so I promised the group that I will reach out to my good old friends, the Returned Peace Corp Volunteers, (RPCV'S), scattered all over the US for help.....
